Greenwood showing a lot of promise, saysIghalo

Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo says Mason Greenwood is a promising player for United. Even though he has not yet been included in the starting eleven for the club, Ighalo is sure it is only a matter of time.

The 18-year-old joined the academy at the age of six and has been playing for the club. He has begun to reach his form under the leadership of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He has made 37 appearances and scored 13 goals in which five was for Premier League.

He has not yet been a full part of the team but Ighalo says that in the future he will play a big part in United. Ighalo was brought to Old Trafford in the January transfer window to strengthen the forwarders.

He’s very young and exciting. Very good player, left and right, he can shoot and score goals. He’s a player for the future for Man Utd. He’s doing well now but in two or three years he is going to be doing very, very well,” he said on an Instagram live chat.

Ighalo in the live chat was questioned about another striker Paul Pogba who has been on the speculation of transferring to other league clubs like Juventus, Real Madrid, and PSG. Pogba hasn’tplayed many matches for United this season due to his injuries. He was asked questions on the striker’s form and about his decision on transfer. The Nigerian striker has answered that he is a good player and hopes he will return fit to the club soon.

Ighalo was transferred from the club Shanghai Shenhua on January 31st on loan and has been productive to the team. He, under Solskjaer, has scored four goals by appearing on eight games. He scored two goals against LSAK in the first leg of quarter-finals in Europa league which gave a victory for United. It is unclear whether the season will restart due to Covid 19 pandemic.
