Jesse Lingard Opens up on Social Media Incident

Jesse Lingard claims that his Manchester United career seemed almost down the drain before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer came in as the manager to rescue him. The Englishman had been on a very poor form that had cost him a place in the England and Manchester United setup. He recently ended a goal drought that stretched almost a year during the 2-1 defeat against Astana. There has been a remarkable improvement in form from the 26-year-old, who has completely credited this revival to the manager. Solskjaer’s arrival has had a positive influence on several players in the United squad and it was a major reason behind the club’s form taking a turn north.

Solskjaer was focused heavily on disciplining him so that Lindegaard did not make mistakes of the past. A lot of criticism has come Lingard’s way – especially on social media. Meanwhile, the winger posted a responsible video on Snapchat when he was on a holiday with friends. This led to an immediate disciplinary action from the manager. Lingard has now revealed thatSolskjaer gave him a final warning about his future at the club.Solskjaer made his name at United by being an incredible professional under Sir Alex Ferguson. Even when he was not playing,Solskjaer remained very professional and he became known as the best super sub ever.

“It genuinely was a mistake to post it. I have a lot of young followers and I would never put that out there deliberately. It was an accident.I was told the manager was going mad, but I was in the air for two hours and literally couldn’t do anything. When I got back, I came in early to speak to the manager and apologise. He said I was on my last chance. He said I had to get my head down and that is what I have done. I am not stupid,” said Lingard.
