Paul Pogba open to future move to Real Madrid

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has revealed that he has the ambition of playing for Real Madrid, although he is content at Manchester United at the present point of time. The France international was heavily linked with an exit from Old Trafford following his mixed relationship with Jose Mourinho in the first half of the season but his stance seems to have changed with the Portuguese’s departure from the helm.

Speaking to reporters, Pogba indicated that he is presently content with his proceedings at Manchester United, where he was recently handed the captain’s armband under caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. However, the World Cup winner did not hide his ambition to play for the outgoing European champions and stated that he has the dream of pursuing the switch at some time in the future, he said: “At the moment I’m happy in Manchester. I play. There’s a new coach. Real Madrid is one of the biggest clubs in the world. I’ve always said it is a dream club for every player.”

Pogba has been criticised from a section of the United faithful during the opening half of the season but he has managed to win them over with the performances since the turn of the year. However, the current comments would no doubt produce a cause of concern for the supporters, considering the midfielder is being represented by agent Mino Raiola, who has the tendency to entice players into fresh moves to boost his finances.

The 26-year-old currently has more than two years remaining on his existing contract with United but talks are understood to be underway regarding an extension. The Frenchman is presently enjoying best-ever return in the Premier League and has already amassed 11 goals and nine assists from 27 appearances for the club. The vast majority of those have come under the guidance of Ole.
