SHAW, RASHFORD OUT OF ENGLAND GAMES

The Manchester United duo of Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford have pulled out of the final England qualifiers for next year’s FIFA World Cup tournament as revealed by the statement from the Three Lions camp on Monday. The two Manchester United players were part of four England ruled out of the World Cup qualifying matches against Albania and San Marino.

Rashford recently returned to the Manchester United squad for the Premier League clash with hosts Leicester City in the middle of last month after missing the first two weeks of the season due to a shoulder problem and he has withdrawn from the latest England games to concentrate on getting back to full fitness. For Shaw, the Manchester United left-back suffered concussion during the Premier League clash with city rivals Manchester City at home on Saturday and has pulled out of the latest England team as a result. Shaw and Manchester United were humbled by their neighbours via a 2-0 defeat and it could have been more if not for the inspired display from David De Gea in the Red Devils goal.

PREMIER LEAGUE: SALAH  MAKES HISTORY AT UNITED

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah scored his first treble of the season as he led his team to a big result against Manchester United in the Premier League. Manchester United on TV was a feature as Salah scored three goals in the 5-0 away win for the Reds. The Manchester United defence was not able to cope with the red-hot attacker who has been in very good form since the start of the season.

Salah was the provider for the opener scored by Guinean international Naby Keita after five minutes. He scored the opening goal of the game shortly after Portugal international Bruno Fernandes missed a decent opportunity to break the deadlock for the hosts. England right-back Trent Alexander Arnold then provided the assist for the second Liverpool goal scored by Portuguese star Diogo Jota who was surprisingly included on the left side of the Manchester United attack ahead of Senegalese international Sadio Mane. SHAW DOUBTFUL FOR EVERTON CLASH

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw is a big doubt for the Everton game this weekend. This is according to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who informed pressmen during his pre-match media conference on Friday. The Norwegian tactician revealed that he’s not certain that Shaw would be able to make it in time for the Everton clash at home on Saturday afternoon.

WILL RONALDO MAINTAIN SCORING FORM?

Cristiano Ronaldo has been in sensational scoring form since his return to the Premier League in August. Manchester United beat rivals Manchester City to secure his move back to the English top flight. The Portuguese international re-signed for Manchester United several years after leaving the club. Ronaldo left the Red Devils to join Real Madrid in the Spanish La Liga in 2009 for £80m. Real Madrid then sanctioned his transfer to Juventus on the back of a nine-year spell with the Spanish capital club. He was at Juventus for three years until his second transfer to the Theatre of Dreams. His first transfer happened in 2003 as he moved to the Old Trafford outfit from Sporting Lisbon in his native Portugal.

MAGUIRE: VARANE’S ARRIVAL HAS LIFTED THE SQUAD

Manchester United captain and defender Harry Maguire has revealed that the arrival of fellow defender Raphael Varane from Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid has served as a lifter in the squad. Maguire revealed in a recent interview that United are the biggest club in the world and they do need to be signing the best players across the several departments in the squad in order to be strong enough to challenge the best teams in both the Premier League and Europe. The time every Manchester United Fan was waiting for patiently finally arrived on Saturday as the club unveiled their newest player to the fans after he walked onto the Old Trafford pitch before the Leeds game.

Fans were very excited after it was announced that the Red Devils reached an agreement with Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid for the transfer of French defender Varane but waited till they lost their patience for the club to unveil him. However, since the £40 million transfer has now been made official, the player is now a full-fledged Manchester United player and he has now been passed fit to make his debut for the club this Sunday against Southampton after commencing training with his new colleagues on Monday afternoon.

JONES ON WEST HAM UNITED RADAR

The future of Phil Jones at Manchester United is in serious doubts and he could leave the Old Trafford club this summer. The England international is surplus to requirements after Manchester United agreed a deal for Frenchman Raphael Varane.

Manchester United have several central defenders in the first team including the aforementioned Jones and that didn’t stop the club from agreeing a deal with Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid to sign Varane for an initial fee of £34m plus £7m in add-ons.

LIVERPOOL CONSIDERING €70M SWOOP FOR BARELLA

Merseyside giants Liverpool are considering a big money move for Inter Milan midfielder NicoloBarella according to the latest reports emanating from the Italian media. The specific report from Italian publication Tuttomercatoweb stated that the Reds are considering a €70m bid for Barella who’s also a top target for rivals Manchester United. Both Manchester United and Liverpool are in the race to sign Barella whose status as been elevated after a successful campaign for both club and country.

Manchester United target Barella was a regular in the Inter Milan XI as the Nerazzuri beat others to win the Italian Serie A title for the first time in many years. Inter had not won the league for over a decade until the barren run came to an end last season. Barella has been established as one of the midfield targets for Liverpool and he was a regular in the Italy midfield that played a big role at the Euro 2020 tournament. The Inter Milan midfielder was an important member of the Italy team that won the tournament.
